Nepali singer Menuka Paudel’s powerful performance in Indian Idol has not stopped. Even Bollywood director Mahesh Bhatt could not contain himself during his performance on Saturday evening. After the presentation, Mahesh looked very emotional. In the last episode, Menuka mesmerized the judges and the audience with the song ‘Gali Mein Aaj Chand Niska’ from the famous 1998 film ‘Zakhm’ directed by Bhatt.
Why this song and film is special for Mahesh is that this film is based on the life of Mahesh’s mother Sirin Mohammad Ali. Mahesh’s daughter Pooja Bhatt plays the role of mother in the film. Judges Shreya Ghoshal, Vishal Didlani along with Mahesh were visibly moved when Menuka sang the song. They also gave a standing ovation to Menuka. Reaching the stage after the performance, Mahesh hugged Menuka and kissed her on the head.
