South Indian superstar Prabhas starrer Salaar crossed the Rs 500 crore mark worldwide on the sixth day of its release on Wednesday. The film grossed 297 crores at the Indian box office. It seems that there is a decline in the earnings of the film on weekdays. Shahrukh Khan’s film ‘Dunki’ has collected 151 crores at the Indian box office so far. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film has earned around 310 crores worldwide. It was released one day before ‘Dunki’ and ‘Salar’.
South Indian film trade analyst Ramesh Bala said, “Salaar is doing well in Telugu and Hindi. Audience is liking this action movie. In my point of view, Salaar is ahead of Dunki even in the Hindi belt. I am saying this based on screen count. You must know that Salaar has less cover than Dunki.’
Business analyst Sumit Kandel also agrees with Ramesh Bala. He said, “Both the films Salaar and Dunki have harmed each other. It can be said that Dunki has suffered more losses. In big cities, the collection of ‘Dunki’ is fine, but in small cities, it is behind Salaar.
Based on the stardom of Rajkumar Hirani and Shah Rukh Khan, the earnings of ‘Dunki’ are less than expected. As the budget of ‘Dunki’ is 85 crores, accordingly, the film will surely get the title of hit. About this, Sumit said, “Amidst all this, one thing that should not be forgotten is the non-action movie Dunki. Despite this, a collection of Rs 150 crore has been made. After the Corona epidemic, only action films have become popular.
According to Sumit, ‘Salaar’ should earn 400 crores net to be recognized as a hit. This means that this film should only earn so much in India. Certainly, its budget is more than Dunki’s. Now the collection of Salaar is decreasing in the south region as well.
