It has been revealed that Indian actress and model Poonam Pandey is still alive. Pandey’s death from cervical cancer was announced on Friday through her Instagram account. According to India Today, her manager also said that Pandey died at the age of 32.
However, Poonam revealed that she is still alive by posting a video on Instagram on Saturday. Apologizing for hurting many people with her old post, Poonam said, “Yes, I spread false news about my death, but I did it to spread awareness about cervical cancer.”
After the news of her death became public, everyone was talking about cervical cancer, she said, ‘This is such a disease, it takes your life without knowing it and it is necessary to talk about this disease a lot, which the news of my death has done.’
In a post shared on Pandey’s Instagram account on Friday, ‘Today’s morning is difficult for us. We are deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our dear Poonam due to cervical cancer. She met everyone who came in contact with her with love. During this time of grief, we ask for privacy and will remember them fondly for all they have shared.
After this post was published, artists Kangana Ranaut and Anupam Kher also expressed their condolences through social media. In a story published in India Today, Pandey’s security guard said that she never mentioned that she was sick.
Indian media have mentioned that when they tried to contact Pandey’s family members to confirm the news of her death, either the phone was switched off or the phone was not picked up.
A post from her account on Saturday confirmed that the news of her death was false. Pandey made her debut in Bollywood with the film ‘Nasha’ in 2013. She was last seen in the movie ‘The Journey of Karma’. On TV, she participated in ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 13’ and Kangana Ranaut’s reality show ‘Lockup’.
