Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has been accused of promoting the Mahadev gaming app. According to the Indian media, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) of India has sent a letter to appear on Friday for the necessary inquiry on this matter.
The directorate claims that Ranveer promoted the gaming app and the remuneration received by him was the proceeds of crime. Recently, an investigation is underway against Saurabh Chandrakar, who runs an online betting app from Dubai, and his business partner Ravi Uppal in the Rs 5,000 crore money laundering case. According to reports, Ranveer Mahadev attended the wedding of Saurabh Chandrakar, an accused in the online gaming app case. Saurabh spent Rs 200 crore on this wedding in Dubai. At that time many other celebrities including Ranveer also performed.
Saurabh is accused of giving money to celebrities through hawala. Simultaneously, the Enforcement Directorate will also investigate the funding of online games through advertising.
Last month, the Financial Fraud Investigation Agency had seized Rs 417 crore in connection with online betting.
