Paresh Rawal’s exit from Hera Pheri 3 has come as a major shock to fans, especially with the actor confirming the news himself. Following his departure, reports surfaced claiming that Akshay Kumar’s production house—now in charge of the film after acquiring the rights from Feroz Nadiadwala—has filed a ₹25 crore lawsuit against Rawal for abruptly walking away from the project.
Amid the legal buzz, Rawal—beloved for his iconic role as Baburao—has spoken out about his decision to quit the film. In an interview with Mid-day, he shared, “I know it came as a shock to many. We three make a great combination with Priyadarshanji directing us, but the fact is that I opted out because today I don’t feel like a part of it.” He added that this is his final decision for now, though he left the door slightly open, noting, “one never knows what the future holds.”
Akshay Kumar to sue Paresh Rawal for Rs 25 crore for walking out of ‘Hera Pheri 3’: Report
Earlier, in a conversation with Lallantop, Rawal had hinted at his growing disillusionment with the project. He said he was only continuing with the franchise to prevent it from getting stalled, despite not feeling any joy in doing so. “Everybody wants to cash in on sequels, but do something different with the character that has ₹500 crore worth of goodwill,” he remarked.
While legal tensions rise, fans are still holding on to hope that Rawal might reconsider and return to the beloved role of Baburao.
